Biography

Claire Ward MP was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State on 9 June 2009. She previously served in the Whips’ Office as Vice Chamberlain of Her Majesty’s Household and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury. She was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for the NHS (2001-05) and a member of the select committee for Culture, Media and Sport.

Elected Member of Parliament for Watford in 1997, Claire Ward was mayor of Boreham Wood and served as a councillor for Elstree and Boreham Wood Town Council from 1994.

Education

LLB from the University of Hertfordshire.
Masters in Britain and the European Union from Brunel University.
Qualified as a solicitor.
