All you need is:
- the name and date of birth of the person you are visiting
- their prisoner number.
You can choose up to 3 possible dates and times. Prison booking staff will check what's available and confirm your visit by email.
If you've made an online visit booking request and haven't received a confirmation email within 1-3 working days, please call 03003030634, lines open 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday.
Additional information: There are refreshment facilities (including the provision of hot meals) within the visits room as well as a children’s play area. We have a dedicated visitors centre at the entrance to the prison which is run in partnership with PACT.
If you have a special requirement the staff at HMP Erlestoke are here to help. Please let us know in advance if you require wheelchair access or if you have mobility issues. If so we can provide Disabled Parking Facilities closer to the top gate.

Friends of Erlestoke Transport Scheme
Friends of Erlestoke prison offer a return transport service on visiting days from Westbury Train Station or Devizes Market Place. If you would like to access this service, as soon as your visit is confirmed please email firstname.lastname@example.org or Telephone/Text 07721 932430.
There is a family-friendly visitor's centre run by the Prison Advice and Care Trust (PACT), a national charity. Visitors are offered a warm welcome, information and support. Further information can be found on the PACT website or by calling 01380816828 to speak to a member of the PACT team.

Prison Voicemail service
Social contacts can exchange voicemails with prisoners through the Prison Voicemail service, which is available at this establishment. Family members or friends sign up online and are given a unique landline phone number which they can call at any time to leave messages. The prisoner dials the same number from within the prison to listen and reply. You can find more information including pricing at www.prisonvoicemail.com.
How to get there:
- Bus: There is a limited bus service due to the prisons rural location. Details can be obtained from Traveline by phoning 0871 200 2233 or by logging onto traveline.info.
- Train: The nearest railway station is Westbury. A taxi will be required for the 7 mile journey to the prison. Chippenham station is approximately 20 miles from prison; Bath is 25 miles away.
- Car: The prison is situated on the B3098 between Westbury and Market Lavington on the northern edge of Salisbury Plain.
Motorway access: London via M4 to Hungerford, then Devizes to Westbury; London via M3 and A303 to Stonehenge and Shrewton. A360 to Tilshead and West Lavington – B3098 to Westbury.
M4 from Wales – leave at the Chippenham turning and take the road to Devizes;
From Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall: Follow preferred main road to Warminster, Westbury and Erlestoke.
A visitors' car park is available on the right hand side of the prison drive. Limited disabled spaces are available.
