Booking online

To book online, visit: www.gov.uk/prison-visits

All you need is:

- the name and date of birth of the person you are visiting

- their prisoner number

You can choose up to 3 possible dates and times. Prison booking staff will check what’s available and confirm your visit by email. You’ll also receive your visiting order (VO) number by email. You must bring this with you when you visit.

Telephone booking

Booking line number - 0300 060 6502. The booking service is closed on Bank Holidays.
Lines open from Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 18:00.

Telephone bookings can be made up until 18:00, two days prior to a visit. For example, the last booking for a Wednesday visit will be 18:00 on Monday. Visits can be booked up to 28 days in advance.

Additional information: There is a Visitors Centre outside the prison. Opening hours are Tues - Sun 12:00 – 16:30.

The centre provides disabled parking, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities, snack bar and childrens indoor and outdoor play areas.

A Community Transport service will operate on Wednesday and Saturday picking up from Birmingham New Street railway station and Wolverhampton railway station and then onto the establishment.

Bookings for the service must be made in advance on 0800 316 9048 and service users must register using the above free phone number before travel.

How to get there:

Community Transport Service: The community bus service has now been stopped. Please use the below alternative options for travel to the prison.

  • Train: Nearest Railway Station is Wolverhampton, complete rest of journey by bus
  • Bus: No 872 bus from Wolverhampton, No 70 bus from outside University of Wolverhampton.
  • Car: From Wolverhampton take the A449 northbound - there is a visitors car parking facility at the prison
