Booking information: All social visits to be booked by prisoner applications only. Please speak to the person you wish to visit and ask them to make the application.
Additional information: There is a small Visitor Centre outside the Gate. Limited refreshment facilities are available in the Visits Hall. Visits is a no smoking facility. Disabled access.

Prison Voicemail service
Social contacts can exchange voicemails with prisoners through the Prison Voicemail service, which is available at this establishment. Family members or friends sign up online and are given a unique landline phone number which they can call at any time to leave messages. How to get there:
- Bus: 101/201 from Nottingham Victoria Centre to Magna Carta public house in Lowdham village. Then taxi to prison
- Train: Main line to Nottingham. Local rail service between Nottingham and Lowdham village but very infrequent. Taxi from village to prison. Taxi from Nottingham to prison Alert Cars 0115 9400400
- Car: The prison is located on the A6097 Doncaster to Leicester road about 2 miles north of Lowdham village. It is signposted off the A6097. The prison is about 9 miles north east of Nottingham city centre.
- Large visitors' car park at the prison. Disabled parking places located adjacent to Visitors' Centre.
