Mon - Fri: 13:30 - 18:30. Last visit can be booked at 17:30
Sat - Sun: 13:30- 16:30. Last visit can be booked at 15:30 (Bank Holidays)
Booking information: All reception visits must be pre booked by telephoning 01733 217536, all subsequent visits must be booked by the prisoner.
Additional information: The Visitors Centre opens half an hour prior to the start of visits. Remand entry, standard and enhanced prisoners can book a minimum of one hour’s visit per day .Convicted entry and standard can book a maximum of four visits per month, all of which can be two hours in duration. Convicted enhanced can book a maximum of five visits per month, all of which can be three hours in duration. Further information on visiting entitlements can be obtained from the visitors centre within the prison.
Visiting arrangements for bank holidays are the same as the weekend social visits. There are no visits on Christmas Day.
The visitors centre is located at the front of the prison and has easy access for wheelchairs. The prison operates a no smoking policy. There are lockers available within the visits centre should you wish to leave your belongings in them .All social visitors are required to book in prior to the visit commencing.
Within the visitors centre there is a tea bar operated by the Friends of Peterborough Prison, there are also toilet and wash facilities available. A children’s play area is also situated within the visits centre. The prison operates a cash facility for purchasing refreshments during your visit; a maximum of twenty pound per visit is permitted.

How to get there:
Peterborough prison is situated in the City of Peterborough, approx. half a mile from the city centre.
- By Bus: Monday to Saturday - Buses run every ten minutes from the City Centre Bus Station (Bay 2). The nearest bus stop to the prison is on Westfield Road – opposite the Shell petrol station. Travel time from the City Centre to Westfield Road is approximately ten minutes. It is then approx. a 5 minute walk to the prison entrance.
Buses also run on a Sunday from Bay 2 at half hourly intervals between 10.15 am and 5.15 pm. Thereafter the buses run every hour at a quarter past the hour.

- By Train: There is a main line station in Peterborough City Centre. Taxis are available immediately outside the station and the prison is a 10 minute ride away. Alternatively it is possible to walk to the prison along Bourges Boulevard / Mayors Walk – taking around 20 minutes.
