Rye Hill Prison information
HMP Rye Hill provides a range of work, education and training opportunities for prisoners. We run a suite of programmes appropriate for sex offenders. Prisoners have access to the Library and gymnasium facilities during their leisure time.
Programmes: we currently deliver the following offending behaviour programmes that are designed to address sexual and/or intimate partner violence needs for men who are Moderate to High risk.

Education: contracted to NOVOS. Offers a variety of Functional Skills classes and PSD courses from Entry Level to Level 3, five days a week and additional evening classes for upskilling prisoners for higher level learning.
Drug and Alcohol Recovery Team: Psychosocial case management, specific group work tailored to client need, Peer Mentor scheme, alternative therapies and drug awareness/harm reduction. Prisoners also have access to health and wellbeing support and guidance.
Workshops: Four workshops operate a range of commercial contracts including plumbing assembly, electrical assembly and carpentry. There are also opportunities in the gardens and the Activity Centre which is for prisoners with complex needs and the elderly.
Healthcare: A broad range of Primary Care services are supplied by G4S Health, alongside a secondary Mental Health Inreach Service. There is no inpatient facility at HMP Rye Hill.
Chaplaincy: A full time Chaplaincy Manager coordinates visiting ministers of other faiths to meet recognised religious needs. There is a multi-faith room available in addition to a chapel. An Imam is directly employed to service the Muslim prisoners.
Food: a varied menu, catering for all standard, religious, medical and vegetarian diets is provided by Aramark. Healthy eating is encouraged and the selections offered allow prisoners to ensure they have a well balanced diet.
