Education and wokshops
Education is delivered by PeoplePlus, who will offer a needs based curriculum which includes nationally recognised qualifications in Motors Mechanics, Functional Skills, ITQ, Media and Sport. Prisoners will be gainfully employed within a range of workshops, which are currently under development and will include Welding fabrication, Carpentry, Catering and Contract services. These facilities will be fully operational in the autumn of 2015.
Healthcare is provided by Care UK from the local practice. There is health care cover on site from 0745 hrs to 1945 hrs. HMP Warren Hill has a well-equipped dental surgery, and any specialist medical care is provided by the NHS when required.
Arrangements for assessment, rehabilitation treatment, education, counselling and attending volunteer groups are overseen by RAPt. Drugs testing is carried out within the national framework and drugs dogs operate.
A representative from the prison sits on the Suffolk Drug Action Team and representatives of various community drug agencies are also members of the prisons Drug Strategy Team.
