There is a difference between the scale of operations for a major feature film and an educational schools programme. As a result, HM Courts &Tribunals Service operates a sliding scale of charges for location filming.

As a general guide feature films could expect to pay around £3300 and TV dramas from £1500 per 12 hour day. Smaller projects can be negotiated depending on the requirements.

No charge is made for establishing shots of court exteriors from public highways unless the court needs to be opened e.g. for a character to enter or exit during filming.

Events hire also operates on a sliding scale depending on the location, length and nature of the function. A security fee may be added to the hire fee if the event is outside normal court hours.
