Universal Periodic Review
The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a process through which the human rights records of the United Nations' Member States are periodically reviewed. General information on the UPR process is available on the United Nations' website.
The Ministry of Justice coordinates the UPR for the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom last underwent the UPR in 2012. The final UPR recommendations and the United Kingdom's response (as "Addendum 1" and "Annex 1" under “Outcome of the review”) are published on the United Nations' website.
In 2014, the United Kingdom will be submitting a mid-term report on the recommendations received at the conclusion of the UPR in 2012. We welcome your views on the recommendations that the United Kingdom should prioritise, or on areas not included in the recommendations.
Please submit your comments (closing date: 17:00 on Tuesday 1 October 2013).
