Short follow-up inspections

Short follow-up inspections are also unannounced and conducted where the previous full inspection and our intelligence systems suggest that there are comparatively fewer.

Inspectors look at progress made against previous recommendations, and where necessary, note additional areas of concern. Inspectors draw up a brief healthy prison summary setting out the establishment’s progress in the areas inspected.
