Competency and Qualities Framework
Selection for roles in NOMS/HMPS is based on an assessment against competencies set in the Competency and Qualities Framework that are particularly relevant to the job you are applying for.
The competencies describe behaviours that NOMS/HMPS encourages among its staff, such as respecting others or team working.
It is designed to enable employees and their managers to know what is expected of them. It does not describe ‘what' has to be done but ‘how' things should be done.
