The Ministry of Justice has published details of revised fees and allowances payable by the coroner on holding inquests.
Fees payable for post mortem examinations and allowances payable to jurors and witnesses at inquest in coroners' courts, including professional and expert witnesses, are determined by the Secretary of State for Justice with the consent of the Treasury.
The juror and witness financial loss allowance, professional witness overnight allowance, travel allowances and post mortem examination fee have all been increased with effect from 1 October 2008.
