The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee has made amendments to the Criminal Procedure Rules, which came into force today (6 October 2008).
The new rules include revised and simplified rules about starting a prosecution in a magistrates' court, about representatives in criminal proceedings and about appealing to the Crown Court. There are also various amendments of other rules.
The guide to the sixth amendment, attached below, was originally included in an announcement on the rules published on 15 August 2008.
