Views sought on proposed changes to Criminal Procedure Rules

The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee is asking for views on proposed changes to the rules on starting a criminal case in a magistrates' court.
The proposal, to amend Part 7 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2005, is set out in the Invitation to Comment. The new rules would apply to all criminal cases in magistrates' courts.
The committee would like to hear your comments on any aspect of the proposal, but would particularly welcome views on the questions set out in the questionnaire.
The deadline for responses is Friday 30 May 2008.
