The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee is seeking views on proposals to simplify rules about appeals to the Crown Court against conviction and sentence. Those who wish to comment have until 22 February 2008 to submit their views.
The proposed amendment to part 63 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2005 would apply to all rights of appeal in criminal cases from magistrates' courts to the Crown Court.
The Committee would welcome comments on any aspect of the proposal, as well as responses to questions set out in the questionnaire.

The deadline for responses is Friday, 22 February 2008.
