The Civil Procedure Rule Committee is inviting applications for two vacancies on the committee.

The committee invites applications for:

  • A Barrister Member: one person who has a Supreme Court qualification (within the meaning of section 71 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990)

  • A Solicitor Member: one person who has been granted by an authorised body, under Part II of that Act, the right to conduct litigation in relation to all proceedings in the Supreme Court, and who has particular experience of practice in county courts

Appointments will be for a period of two or four years. The committee meets in London ten times a year. The positions are unpaid, but members will be reimbursed for their travelling and out-of-pocket expenses incurred in connection with the committee's business.

The Civil Procedure Rule Committee is an advisory non-departmental public body set up under the Civil Procedure Act 1997 to make rules of court for the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal, the High Court and the county courts.
