Youth Crime Action Plan – responses to consultation
25 June 2009
The government has published a summary of the responses to its consultation on the Youth Crime Action Plan issued on 16 July 2008.
The Youth Crime Action Plan set out a three-track approach to tackling youth crime:
- enforcement and punishment where behaviour is unacceptable
- non-negotiable support and challenge where it is most needed
- earlier prevention.
The consultation consisted of 11 questions and 86 responses were received. The summary outlines the initial government response to the issues raised. In due course the government will report on progress on delivering the commitments in the action plan and the next steps.
