The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee has made new rules for appeals to the Court of Appeal and about applications to change a guilty plea. The new rules will come into force on 1 October 2007.
The Statutory Instrument, The Criminal Procedure (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2007, was laid in Parliament on 8 August 2007 and the reference number is 2007 No. 2317 (L. 23).

The Criminal Procedure Rules came into force on 4 April 2005. As a general rule, there are two amendments each year, which then come into force in April and October.
