The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee invites views on a proposal to amend part 63 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2005.
The committee is considering a proposal to revise and simplify the rules about appeals to the Crown Court against conviction and sentence. The new rules would apply to the exercise of all rights of appeal in criminal cases from magistrates' courts to the Crown Court.
The committee invites comments on any aspect of the proposal and would welcome views on the particular questions set out in the questionnaire.
The deadline for responses is Friday, 22 February 2008.
