The Honourable Sir (David) Roderick Evans retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) with effect from 1 May 2013.

Sir (David) Roderick Evans (66) was called to the Bar (G) in 1970, elected as a Bencher in 2001 and took silk in 1989. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1983, a Recorder in 1987, and a Circuit Judge in 1992. He was Resident Judge at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court from 1994 to 1998, Swansea Crown Court from 1998 to 1999 and Cardiff Crown Court from 1999 to 2001. He was appointed a member of the Criminal Committee for the Judicial Studies Board from 1998 to 2001 and the Recorder of Cardiff and a Senior Circuit Judge in 1999. He was appointed a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2001, Presiding Judge of the Wales and Chester Circuit from 2004 to 2007 and Secretary of the Association of Judges of Wales in 2008. He joined the Parole Board in 2011.
