Consultation on draft Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations closes today.

The Government has been consulting on whether the 2004 regulations should be amended to deal with requests imposing a disproportionate burden on public authority resources.

The consultation period was originally extended from the beginning of March to 21 June 2007 to give more people the opportunity to respond. Over 250 responses were received which the Government will now consider and analyse before publishing a formal response within the next three months.
