Race, disability and gender equality schemes are key tools in aiding the delivery of more efficient services and policies and in being responsive to the needs of our diverse range of users. They describe how departments meet their duties and responsibilities under the relevant legislation.
Our equality schemes will be established over the coming year. As Ministry of Justice, we took over the responsibilities of the Department for Consitutional Affairs and some responsibilities of the Home Office. We need to decide how these separate equality schemes will be brought together.
