This is the fifth periodic report to the United Nations under the international covenant on economic, social and cultural rights (ICESCR). The report covers the United Kingdom, the Crown Dependencies and the British Overseas Territories. The Government ratified the ICESCR in 1976 and agreed to provide periodic reports to the United Nations on the progressive realisation of the rights contained in the covenant.
