This consultation paper invited responses to the government's proposals to create a new offence for the possession of non-photographic visual depictions of child sexual abuse - such as computer generated images, drawings and animation.
The paper focused on assessing the level of public concern about such images, and sought views on the type of material that should be caught by the offence, as well as the thresholds, definitions, penalties and defences within the terms of the offence. The paper also asked questions about research in this area.
