The technical notes for the department's Public Service Agreement targets under the 2004 Spending Review have been amended to reflect improvements to the collection of data on care cases. The change relates to PSA 4 target to increase the proportion of care cases being completed in the courts within 40 weeks by 10% by 2009/10.
The 2004 Spending Review set out key priorities for the former Department for Constitutional Affairs, which was replaced by the Ministry of Justice in May 2007. The Ministry is also responsible for meeting the 'Standard' target on reducing reoffending, which is being delivered by the National Offender Management Service, and which relates to a former Home Office target (Spending Review 2002, PSA 5).
