Alternative Business Structures

About

The Alternative Business Structures jurisdiction has been created to hear appeals against decisions made by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers under the Legal Services Act 2007.

They are approved regulators to license a particular type of legal service provider, normally known as ‘Alternative Business Structures’. The regulator has a set of rules to regulate Alternative Business Structures.

Appeals against the decisions will be made to the General Regulatory Chamber of the First–tier Tribunal.

The Alternative Business Structures jurisdiction will be operated under the existing General Regulatory Chamber Rules.

If you would like to attend a hearing please refer to the current case section for further information, or contact the First-tier Tribunal (Alternative Business Structures) administrative office.

The tribunal judge is appointed by the Lord Chancellor and will hear appeals at venues across England and Wales. Oral hearings are open to the public.
