How to apply
We offer two ways to apply for an award:
Online
Our online application process should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete - as long as you have all the relevant information with you.
Before you start, you may find it useful to read the Guide to the Scheme and the Can I apply? section of our website, as this will help you find out if you are likely to be eligible for an award.
Telephone
Our telephone helpline staff can guide you through an application in around 20 minutes, as long as you have all the relevant information with you.
Please read the Can I apply? section of our website, which will help you decide whether you are eligible, before calling us on 0300 003 3601 to apply. Lines are open 08.30 to 17.00 weekdays except Wednesdays, when they are open 10.00 to 17.00.
If you feel that you are unable to apply on line or over the telephone, and you do not have someone who can do this for you, then please call our Customer Service Centre where we will advise you further.
Through Victim Support
You can get free, confidential support from Victim Support (England and Wales) / Victim Support (Scotland), the national charity that helps people affected by crime. They can help you fill out our forms, and some offices can support you throughout your claim by dealing with us on your behalf. You can find out where your nearest Victim Support office is by looking at their website, or calling the Victim Supportline on 0845 30 30 900.
