This section contains practitioner guidance for all those working for or with youth justice services.

Submit an example of practice to the YJB

The YJB welcomes the submission of youth justice-related effective practice resources from YOTs, secure establishments and the private and voluntary/community sectors.

Our aim is to provide practitioners and commissioners in the youth justice sector with accessible, relevant and objective information about the range of practices and programmes in use across the youth justice system and their relative effectiveness.

Submit materials by completing the submission form and emailing it along with any supporting information and materials.

Submission form (DOC)

Please note: In submitting materials to the YJB you thereby:

  1. Authorise us to make these materials available on our web pages and to present them in accordance with the classification banding attributed to them by the Effective Practice classification panel
  2. Confirm that if any of the material was originated by a third party you have their consent to submit it; and
  3. Undertake to indemnify the YJB in respect of any claims made by a third party alleging breach of copyright or other intellectual property rights.

If an example of effective practice includes materials or information you would not wish to make freely available (for example, commercially-sensitive information, or resources for which there is normally a cost attached) please specify this or contact us via email for more information.

YJBulletins

YJBulletin – YOTs is fortnightly and contains both required actions for YOT managers and YJB and youth justice related updates.

YJBulletin – Secure Estate is monthly and focuses on issues that managers of the secure estate should be aware of, along with material from the wider context of significance to its operation.
