The Practice Directions listed below came into effect on 26 April 1999, having been made jointly by -

1. the Lord Chief Justice as president of the Queen's Bench Division;

2. the Master of the Rolls as president of the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal;

3. the Vice-Chancellor as vice-president of the Chancery Division; and

4. the Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Lord Chancellor, pursuant to section 5 of the Civil Procedure Act 1997.
