A consolidated version of the Civil Procedure Rules is currently being prepared. We would appreciate any feedback that you may have on the existing hard copy publication, including its format and any improvements or changes that you would like to see incorporated in the new edition. In addition, we are interested to hear how useful you find the Index on the web version and any suggestions that may help us to make it more usable.

36th Update - This update of the Civil Procedure Rules, published on 27 August, includes new provisions relating to civil restraint orders and access to court documents. There are also amendments to Part 45 providing for fixed recoverable success fees in personal injury claims against an employer (other than claims relating to disease or arising from a road traffic accident) where the claimant is funded by a conditional fee arrangement. Other amendments include evidential requirements when applying for certain anti-social behaviour injunctions and changes which reflect recent disability legislation.
A full list of changes, including the coming into force dates, can be found in the Notes to Accompany.
Amendments to 36th Update - This update to the Civil Procedure Rules, which was published on 27 August, has been supplemented by amendments to Practice Direction 49B and Practice Direction 52 which came into force on 8 October 2004.
Practice Direction 49B (Applications under the Companies Act etc.) is amended to make provision for two types of application: applications relating to the formation of a European public limited-liability company and applications relating to property seized in connection with a company investigation.
Practice Direction 52 (Appeals) is amended by adding a new paragraph 23.8C dealing with appeals to the High Court against a decision of the Secretary of State or a national financial supervisory authority to oppose certain steps being taken in relation to a European public limited-liability company.
These amendments can be viewed on the DCA website: http://www.dca.gov.uk/legalsys/civil-procedure-rules.pdf and will be incorporated into the 37th Update of the Civil Procedure Rules which will be published in January 2005.
37th update - We expect to publish the 37th update in December 2004.
An html CPR index is now available which incorporates 33rd update changes. Should you have any comments about the web index we'd appreciate your feedback to: web.comments@dca.gsi.gov.uk.
